Happy Birthday, Dad!

Since we couldn't be together for your big milestone birthday, I drug the family out for a hike as a tribute to our favorite outdoorsman. It hardly seems like you could be 65 already Ü.

Love you!

March 15 + Snow = CRAZY!

Words escape me and all that comes out is a disgusted grunt when being awakened by a blizzard of white. Please make it stop!

Iroquois Longhouse

Emily's Social Studies project was to construct a traditional Iroquois tribal longhouse. It pretty much consumed our entire weekend (and I use the term 'our' loosely, because it was really just Scott and her. Mostly Scott). Here they are painting the land around the dwelling with a mixture of dirt and glue to simulate bare earth once dry.

And here is the finished project. They left it partially open so that you can look inside and see the sleeping areas and little fires inside. It was a heavy son-of-a-gun to carry into the school on Monday! I hope Scott (errrr...Emily!) gets a good grade on this puppy!

Wall Update

When we first moved into our new house, 4 years ago, this wall which is adjacent to the TV wall had a wall grouping that consisted of a countryish painting, two country wall sconces, and a sunflower swag atop it all. When we upgraded to a 52" flat screen TV, it just looked out place so I set about giving that wall a facelift. I earned the new sconces at a PartyLite show last Spring and they were just waiting around for the perfect spot to be hung. And since my family, in my opinion, is the best artwork I've ever had a hand in creating I just printed some of my all-time favorite pictures of them in B&W and framed them (the big frames are from Costco and the littler ones are Wal-Mart). Voila! Thanks, honey, for hanging them for me!

Pirate Girl, Arrrrrrrr!

In my last post, I mentioned that we made a quick stop at Tsunami Tattoo. What I failed to mention was what we did there, and since I can't really ask Marie to pose topless to show you her new piercings this will have to do. I now present...:::drumroll please::: my ankle (awkward pose, thanks Scott, as I was curled up in my chair reading).

(those of you who know me well can judge for yourselves whether it's real or not)

Bunko Babes Gone Wild

This is Marie & I at the end of a long day of Bunko Babe Madness. We all (except Barb) loaded in Tami's car and went to Tacoma for lunch, bra fittings at Nordstrom, shopping the mall, shopping Castle, a quick stop at Tsunami Tattoo, and then hors d'oevres and drinks at Puerto Vallarta. My friend and hairstylist, Jenny & I *have* to remain friends for life now that she knows my 'real' haircolor and has seen me topless (we all shared fitting rooms at Nordies to save time...crazy!).

Family Dining

The whole family came over for lunch today. It was pretty fun to watch the hierarchy within a deer family play out much like does when our whole family gathers to eat! Click on the picture to view it larger and check out how furry cute the baby on the left is.
